GOND AND BHIL ART

The Gonds and Bhils are two major tribal communities of Central India, The Bhil tribe is largely found in the western parts of state of Madhya Pradesh, and in Gujarat.The Gond tribe inhabits parts of Madhya Pradesh ,Chattisgarh ,Andra Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra. These regions are rich in cultural heritage and have distinct arts and crafts that need to be showcased... I have been working with the various tribes from Madhya Pradesh to promote them nationally and internationally.

Bhuri Bai

Bhuri Bai is a Bhil tribal artist, from Jhabua District of western Madhya Pradesh . Her near pointilistic style is so very similar to Australian Aboriginal Art....! Not surprising, really, considering the word Gondwanaland which is sometimes used to geologically describe Australia, is from the Sanskrit, meaning 'Forests of the Gonds'.

Ladoo Bai

Ladoo Bai is a Bhil artist, who hails from Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh. Her main motiffs are flora and fauna of the region and the Bhil festivals and rituals. She works at the Adivasi Lok Kala Academy.
